Elgin Academy's New Harold D. Rider Family Media, Science, and Fine Arts Center: Project Mission
Elgin Academy will demonstrate its commitment to energy conservation and environmental responsibility in a new 42,300 square foot
Media, Science, and Fine Arts Center, seeking a "Gold Level" LEED Certification. The facility will provide a learning media center, theater/performing arts space, as well as science, math and fine arts classrooms. It will become a "living Laboratory" for science and math students interested in technology, materials, and design/construction techniques.

Why Go Green?
"The sustainable design of the Elgin Academy Media, Science, and Fine Arts Center will provide students with an innovative educational experience reflecting environmental stewardship. This reinforces Elgin Academy's commitment to encourage its students to assume increasing levels of personal and social responsibility in order to live their lives with confidence and compassion." - Dr. John W. Cooper, Head of School
