Welcome to Elgin Academy's Business Office. We are committed to providing our services to Elgin Academy families, faculty, and staff, as well as our community, educational colleagues, and vendors in the most professional, courteous, and timely manner possible.
Our office is responsible for all business functions and applicable policies and procedures including:
- accounts receivable
- accounts payable
- financial reporting
- budgetary management
- endowment management
- contract management
- human resources (employee payroll and benefits)

The Business Office is located on the first floor of Raymond House (dark brown brick building just north of the Rider Center and west of North Hall).
Office Hours (School Year)
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Summer Hours (June-August)
8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Closed for lunch between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m.)
Student Billing
Tuition and fees as outlined on the student Enrollment Agreement are due in full and payable on August 5th of each school year unless families opt to pay via an installment plan as outlined on the student Enrollment Agreement.
All school-year ancillary charges not outlined on the student Enrollment Agreement (hourly extended daycare, optional hot lunch for Grades K-4, etc.) are due within 30 days of charge.
Student billing statements are mailed on the first Friday of each month to the billing address on file in our office.
Checks should include the student's name in the memo line, be made payable to "Elgin Academy," and may be mailed to:

Cash payments should be presented and receipted at the Business Office. A $25 charged is imposed for returned checks. In the event of non-payment of any tuition or other fee due Elgin Academy, the Academy may, in its sole discretion:
- suspend a student from classes,
- refuse to allow a student to take examinations, and/or
- withhold the reporting of transcripts, grades, or diplomas as permitted by law.
Payments that are 60 days late (or more) will result in the student account being placed with a collection agency.
Any financial obligation not paid will be assessed interest at the lesser of (1) the prime rate of interest as published in the edition of The Wall Street Journal which is nearest the date of the delinquency plus 1%, or (2) the maximum rate of interest which Elgin Academy may lawfully charge (the applicable rate being called the "Default Interest Rate") calculated from the date of delinquency to the date of payment.
In the case of suspension or academic dismissal of a student, there shall be no refund of any tuition paid, and the obligation to pay any remaining tuition through any installment payment plan is unconditional.
Accounts PayableAccounts payable checks are issued on Friday. In order to insure timely processing, invoices must be received by noon Thursday of the previous week.
