Alumni
The alumni of Elgin Academy encompasses everyone who ever attended Elgin Academy, including Elgin Junior College, beginning with the recipient of the first diploma awarded, to Laura Davidson Sears, Class of 1876, up to the 156th graduating class of 2012. The cannon on the monument in front of Old Main commemorates the sacrifice of the students and faculty of Elgin Academy in the Civil War; many well known Elgin families are represented on this monument.
There are alumni in all corners of the globe but most reside in the United States. The largest concentration of Elgin Academy alumni is in the Midwest, approximately 800 people.
