Elgin Academy Application Process

Is there an application deadline?
Elgin Academy offers rolling enrollment until classes reach capacity. Please contact the Admission Office as soon as possible at 847.695.0303 or admissions@elginacademy.org.

What is required as part of the admission application?
We require an application form, previous school transcripts, copies of standardized testing results, recommendations, campus visit/shadow day and an age-appropriate admissions test.

If I am not able to travel to visit the campus, how can I set up an interview?
We accept interviews over Skype. This can be set up by contacting the Admission Office at admissions@elginacademy.org.

What should I expect on a visit day?
Prospective students will experience a typical day in the life of an Elgin Academy student. They are also given time to talk with an admissions representative, chat about their day and have questions answered.

Does my student have to take an entrance exam?
Fifth through twelfth graders are required to take an Independent School Entrance Exam.

Where is the admission office and where should I park?
The Admission office is located at the Main Entrance of the Rider Center on the corner of Academy Place and Kimball Street. Visitors are encouraged to park in the designated spots on Academy Place. When you enter the Rider Center proceed to the reception desk where a member of our staff will assist you.

Does Elgin Academy offer Tuition Assistance?
An Elgin Academy education is an investment in your child’s intellectual, personal, and emotional growth. Our goal is to make an Elgin Academy education affordable for as many students as possible. 

Does Elgin Academy offer tuition payment plans?
Elgin Academy students can pay in full (in June) or use FACTS Online Payment Options to pay in either 2 payments (due June and November) or 11 monthly payments (April through February).

What is the “New Family Heritage Fee?”
The “New Family Heritage Fee” is a one-time fee for NEW FAMILIES with students enrolling in grades K-12 who are joining Elgin Academy and becoming a part of our school’s heritage.
