Welcome Alumni
Dear Elgin Academy Alumni, Despite the tremendous efforts of the Board, school leadership and other dedicated community members to find a path forward, the Elgin Academy Board determined that our model of an independent Preschool through 12th grade school is no longer sustainable in Elgin. It was with a heavy heart that, at their November 2023 meeting, the Board of Trustees voted that Elgin Academy will close at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Learn More

Congratulations to the EA Senior Class of 2024! On June 1st the senior class graduated from Elgin Academy. They listened intently to their classmate Kate Kihnke as she gave the Valedictory address, and were excited to welcome back Beth Hogan Corley '82 and Thomas Hogan '81 who gave the Commencement address. Congratulations to award winners Ryan Zonts (Ora L. Pelton III Award) and Victoria Hill (Mother-Daughter Award). We wish the entire Class of 2024 the very best in college and their future endeavors!

Elgin Academy's Legacy Celebration brought together over 600 Hilltoppers of all ages under a beautiful blue sky on May 25, 2024. School spirit and nostalgia were soaring, and it was gratifying to see all of you reconnecting and reliving your days on campus. Thanks to all of you -- students, alumni, teachers, parents, and friends past and present who attended the event and sent messages sharing your EA stories. This memorable gathering served as a testament to your love for the school and a fitting farewell. Throughout the day, one thing was evident. Something as significant as the history and legacy of this amazing place will never be forgotten. Although the school's doors are closing, the spirit of Elgin Academy truly will live on in all of us. Long Live Academy!

An Elgin Academy alum, Sarah Summers (Class of '16) is a "Vaccine Angel" working with Illinois residents to help them find appointments for their COVID-19 vaccine. Sarah is featured along with Karen Davidson in this piece from NBC news which addresses the struggle of many Illinois residents to find vaccine appointments. We are proud of Sarah's commitment to the cause and her fulfillment of our mission to inspire students to become our creative, courageous, and compassionate future.
