For years EA has been proud to host a PACK the PLACE date every January where we display every level of basketball in one day.  Recent changes to the landscape of middle school and upper school sports has made that tradition more difficult to pull off logistically.  However, we do not want to lose the tradition altogether so we would like to adjust the day to put more of an emphasis on our Alumni. We will have other PACK events specifically designed to put our Middle School athletes on center stage, performing with the full support of the EA community.

If you ever draped the orange and black for a boys' or girls' basketball game during your time at EA, we want to see you on January 11th, 2020!  Come help us celebrate you and thank you for your contribution to EA athletics. We will feed you and watch you compete on the court against your fellow EA alumni.  Class of 2019? Class of 1960? No matter the year, we want you to come to help us start a new tradition at Elgin Academy! RSVP for that event so we can make some teams!

New PACK the PLACE schedule:

  • 1:00-2:00 p.m. Girls Basketball Alumni game
  • 2:00-3:00 p.m. Boys Basketball Alumni game
  • 3:30 p.m. - Boys JV vs. Harvest Christian
  • 5:00 p.m. Girls V vs. Hinckley Big Rock
  • 6:30 PM Boys V vs. Harvest Christian

Beginning this Winter season we are excited to be able to offer Strength & Conditioning as an option to our student-athletes for their physical education credit requirement.  Coaches Katie Kruse and Kyle Spencer are already busy exciting our students about the prospect of daily improvement through exercise and nutrition. 3 times per week student athletes are using our weight room, conditioning room and our new formed partnership with Phoenix Athletics Inc. to get themselves in shape or prepare for their upcoming seasons.

The US Girls Basketball season began on Monday, November 4th.

A few returning veterans are joined by some familiar faces making their return to basketball after some time off.  When we get this group of athletes working together as one unit they will be an aggressive and fun team to watch! The first basketball action of the year is our annual Turkey Tournament at EA.  We hope to see you all there!
