Founders' Day Elgin Academy 1839

Happy Birthday Elgin Academy - February 22nd!

Elgin Academy was granted a charter by the Illinois General Assembly on February 22, 1839. EA is incredibly proud of its rich history and of our important role in educating thousands of students from around the globe. The country and world have changed in countless ways since the charter of this school in 1839, and yet the premises upon which an Elgin Academy education are built remain beautifully unchanged. Each year we celebrate our founding and our history during Founders' Week.

Food and Foxman

Thank you to Billy Bricks Wood Fired Pizza who joined us on campus February 19th as part of our I “Heart” EA week celebration. Our students, faculty, parents, and of course, Foxman all had a great time celebrating EA’s Birthday week with pizza, pasta, and other yummy treats donated by Billy Bricks.

“I Heart EA” Week

In celebration of Elgin Academy’s Birthday on February 22nd, we kicked off “I Heart EA” week today! Students from the Lower School wrote what they loved most about Elgin Academy on a sticky heart and added it to the “I Heart EA” wall.
