#IHeartEA Wall

Share your favorite EA memory, story, or photo on social media with the hashtag #IHeartEA any time during the month of February. Beginning February 15th you can view all the #IHeartEA posts on our virtual I Heart EA wall.

Spirit Week

Break out the orange and black and don your EA spiritwear during I Heart EA week. Let’s see that Hilltopper pride! Alumni, parents, and friends share photos of you in your spiritwear on social media with the hashtag #IHeartEA.

Cupola Creations

Bring out your creative side! EA students, parents, alumni, families, and friends are invited to create their own Cupola art in celebration of Founders’ Day. Choose your favorite medium (pencil, paint, clay, papier-mâché, playdough, or crayon.) - the possibilities are endless. Let your creativity guide you. If you need some inspiration, images of the Cupola can be found on our website.  A coloring sheet is also available. This is a perfect family activity for February 15th & 16th when school is off.

Please email a photo of your Cupola Creation to tmoore@elginacademy.org by Wednesday, February 17th. Please include the artist’s name, (ie. Joe Smith, Smith Family), your EA affiliation (student, parent, EA family, alumni), and grade level or alumni year, if applicable. A virtual art show with all the Cupola Creations will be shared at the end of I Heart EA week!

Family Trivia Night

Please join the EAPA on the evening of Thursday, February 18th at 7:00 pm for Family Trivia Night! This exciting virtual event will include a few fun facts about Elgin Academy and its history and is appropriate for the whole family. Zoom links will be shared closer to the event. Thank you to Jorge Sanchez, Tom Guyett, and Ron Woodruff for hosting Family Trivia Night in celebration of Founders’ Day.

EA Community Service Opportunity

Elgin Academy students traditionally participate in service activities during school on Founders’ Day as a way of honoring EA’s legacy of service to the community. This year, we are opening up a service opportunity for the larger EA community. Parents, alumni, families, and friends are invited to donate items for Community Care Bags. These bags will be donated to the Elgin Police Department to share with the surrounding community during police calls. Community Care Bags help support our neighbors in crisis on what may be one of the hardest days they face.

EAPA is requesting donations of new decks of cards or other small games, small childrens’ items or stuffed animals, mints, small hand sanitizers, and quart-sized freezer bags. Donations can be dropped off on the Penney House porch beginning Wednesday, February 10th through Thursday, February 18th. EAPA will put together the bags and deliver them to the Elgin Police Department.
