Personalizing your gift

At Elgin Academy, taking learning personally takes the support of our entire community, and we greatly appreciate how generous our families, alumni, faculty and staff members, and trustees continue to be.

All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You may designate your gift to: Greatest Need, Financial Aid, Academic Programs, Co-Curricular Programs, or Faculty Development. Gifts may also be made in honor and in memory of someone special.

Giving options

Cash gifts
Gifts to Elgin Academy can be made via cash or check (payable to Elgin Academy).

Credit card gifts
Elgin Academy accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Click here to make a gift by credit card.

Gifts of stock

By giving appreciated stock that you have held for more than one year, you will be eligible to receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value, and you can also avoid capital gains tax. Contact the Office of Development to receive more information about gifts of stock.

Planned gifts
A planned gift (also known as a deferred or estate gift) is a wonderful way to support EA, and may provide additional tax or financial benefits. For more information or to learn how to make a make a Planned Gift click here.

Matching gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees to EA. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift.

Gifts in Kind

Gifts of goods and services are always welcomed. There are many different needs at Elgin Academy, and these donations can be distributed where best suited.

Please note that as employees of Elgin Academy, we are prohibited from giving legal or financial advice, and nothing we have provided should be interpreted as such. We encourage you to consult with your own advisor before deciding whether to establish a gift for Elgin Academy.
