Katie, along with her family, lived in China for a total of 10 years where she developed a passion for cross-cultural communication and student exchange. She speaks conversational Mandarin. Since returning from China, Katie has worked enthusiastically with the international student community at Elgin Academy. From interview to graduation, Katie helps each student adjust to the new school environment and encourages each student to become a part of the school community. She oversees all international admission, academic and personal advising, host family placement, and international student culture.

Adeline has taught for four years in the Elgin Academy Lower School. She currently teaches second grade, but she has also taught fourth grade. Adeline, of Korean heritage, is excited to take on the new role of Student Life Activities Support for international students. She is passionate about sharing, celebrating, and integrating the many cultures students bring to Elgin Academy.

Anne-Elise believes in the voice within each child and in helping each child find that voice and use it with purpose and passion. She believes the role of educators is to guide students in unearthing their natural talents, abilities, imagination, and creativity. She also supports educating students on social and emotional well-being and personalizing learning to meet the individual needs of each student. Anne-Elise works with students to drive them forward in the direction of self-advocacy, self-esteem, self-control, and selflessness, so that they can be and give their best.
