KATIE KRUSE

Katie, along with her family, lived in China for a total of 10 years where she developed a passion for cross-cultural communication and student exchange. She speaks conversational Mandarin. Since returning from China, Katie has worked enthusiastically with the international student community at Elgin Academy. From interview to graduation, Katie helps each student adjust to the new school environment and encourages each student to become a part of the school community. She oversees all international admission, academic and personal advising, host family placement, and international student culture.

Dan has been a College Counselor for close to a decade and has worked with students from several different countries (China, Korea, India, Ukraine). His goal is to help students learn about the numerous college opportunities available in the U.S. and around the world. He focuses on helping students find the best fit for their aspirations. He is affiliated with both NACAC (National Association for College Admissions Counseling) and IACAC (Illinois Association of College Admissions Counseling).

Helen's philosophy as Director of Personalized Learning is the belief that every student can succeed. Learning is a lifelong process and I want to help students foster a positive self-image all in collaboration with the school, home, and community. My goal at Elgin Academy is to provide a safe place for all students and to address every student's intellectual, emotional, and social needs.
