KATIE KRUSE

Katie, along with her family, lived in China for a total of 10 years where she developed a passion for cross-cultural communication and student exchange. She speaks conversational Mandarin. Since returning from China, Katie has worked enthusiastically with the international student community at Elgin Academy. From interview to graduation, Katie helps each student adjust to the new school environment and encourages each student to become a part of the school community. She oversees all international admission, academic and personal advising, host family placement, and international student culture.

Adeline has taught for four years in the Elgin Academy Lower School. She currently teaches second grade, but she has also taught fourth grade. Adeline, of Korean heritage, is excited to take on the new role of Student Life Activities Support for international students. She is passionate about sharing, celebrating, and integrating the many cultures students bring to Elgin Academy.

Helen's philosophy as a school counselor is the belief that every student can succeed. Learning is a lifelong process and I want to help students foster a positive self-image all in collaboration with the school, home, and community. My goal as the school counselor at Elgin Academy is to provide a safe place for all students and to address every student's intellectual, emotional, and social needs.
