Congratulations to Audri Ajinth, a Sophomore at Elgin Academy, who was recently named a Delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders to be held March 20th and 21st, 2021.
The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or going to medical research fields. The purpose of this event is to honor, inspire, motivate and direct the top students in the country interested in these careers, to stay true to their dream and, after the event, to provide a path, plan and resources to help them reach their goal.
Audri's nomination was signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine and the Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. Audri was chosen to represent Elgin Academy based on her academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.
On December 17th EA Trustee, Mike Warren, opened the Elgin Breakfast Rotary Club with a video performance by the Elgin Academy Upper School Choir. In years past, the US Choir preformed live for the Rotary Club during the holiday season. Upper School Choir video performances can be viewed on YouTube.
Earlier this month, students in the Upper School Service Club created holiday cards for local senior citizens. On December 17th those cards were delivered to the Atrium at Oak Crest for distribution to all of their residents most of whom have not been able to receive visitors for many months due to COVID restrictions. They did a great job spreading some much needed holiday cheer!
